Default Removed both control arms and decided to attempt DEFCONs. Burned out the front >

and rear bushes. I can see the outer race on the rear, but not sure of fronts (looks like there might be one, but hard to see in poor light).

Please help me understand how to safely remove the outer race from the rear bush (and front if indeed there is one), as I don't want to score the control arm.

Tango!

Default You have to carefully chisel them out. Front and rear.

I wasn't very careful . . . if you do ding up the inside, dremel smooth as you can prior to inserting defcons or the rear replacement bushes.

Default Chisel? Crap, I don't have a chisel. What I was thinking of was to lighly score a section

w/a Dremel cutting wheel (cut it in two sections). Then, use a plastic scraper (cut to 1/4" or so wide) and press in between race and control arm. If I am careful NOT to cut through the race, then I could push the scraper down. If it doesn't break the metal, then I can tap a small screwdriver down in between the scraper and the race.

I could try pressing it out, but don't want to hydraulic the ID of the arm, nor score it.

Sound like it'd work?

Default The outer race corrodes to the arm pretty bad. >>>

I scored a line very close to being all the way thru the race with a hacksaw blade, and then went to work with the chisel. As you work from the top edge, the race rolls in a a bit, giving you more room to whack at with the chisel w/o being near the control arm, and working near the hacksaw cut eventually leads to the race popping loose.
