Raido in SAFE mode...

So i pulled the trigger on the 01 TT 225hp hardtop last night and i have to say its a blast..

The CD changer was not taking the 6 disk holder thing so i pulled the fuse to reset it worked like a champ.. well for taking the holder in it did. The thing now is the whole radio is in SAFE mode. I checked my owners book and the card with the unlock number has been torn out and "kept somewhere safe" and the guy i got the car off is out of town for the next week. Is there another way to reset the radio to bring it back to life?

Check the spare tire well. Many have the code written there on a sticker.

Also, the dealer can retrieve the code for you but they'll charge you $50.

Or on top of the radio. Lazy dealers don't put it anywhere..

If it's a concert you can buy a brand new head unit for less than the price of the code.

IRCC the concerts are being sold off by Audi USA for $40.

Thanks for the info.. got a call back from the old owner. (great people) he knew what it was so all fixed.. good to know about getting a new on ebay and what the dealer charges.. seems a little much to me but hey we are all here to make a buck..
