O.CT Chip Impressions
I got to drive my brothers 225 coupe that just got an O.CT flash' he otherwise has:
-VTDA - fantastic harmonics, btw. Go Steve!
-DV Relo
-Blueflame exhaust
Not too many folks run O.CT here. I must say that I did not test other flashes. So read this only in the context of O.CT. I am not knocking other brands at all. I completly understand that chip tuning is subjective.
Smoothness is the overwhelming feeling. Throttle response is far faster yet very progressive. Torque delivery also is very flat and smooth. Power right away, no surging, no drops, just solid delivery. Even engine vibration is far reduced.
I understand car makers try to go for just that. O.CT beat audi at what is was trying to do and in the process gave an additional 30 horses! Very nice.

Sounds about right. Have had OCT for about 70k miles now
with just minimal mods (exhaust, intake) power delivery is very stock, just much more torque everywhere. With everything else I've added since then it's still strong everywhere and pulls clean up to redline. Haven't had any chip related problems and it's always played nice with other mods.

IMHO... the big difference is that Marcus Oberscheider of O.CT is absolutely obsessed with
a FLAT torque curve. I had an O.CT chip in my car and was 100 percent sold on his work. I also had the opportunity to drive Stratmosphere's evil S4 wagon at TTE 2003 (iirc). Bob from Strat told me that they had in excess of 360 HOURS of dyno time on that car alone developing the chip. That car had what I'd call "relentless pull"... it just kept on pulling all the way up. Awesome power.
Marcus is just a freak about the torque wall and smoothness. I wouldn't have traded that chip for anything in my TT. There may be a few chips that will have higher peak TQ or HP at some point in their curves, but nobody will beat it in smoothness. Wonderful programming. TIA
