Default Things done so far, but more to go. Many experienced ppl here, so what else to make the TT rock hard

Maintenance/Upgrades

Date Mileage

8/23/08 107,600
-Added 8 oz. Auto-Rx to engine. Oil level too high, so took out one qt (engine oil pressure light came on w/in a few miles...now intermittent). Update 9/18/08- OPL not coming on at all.

8/24/08 107,613
-Installed Modshack VDTA.
-Installed new ball joints.
-Added 2 oz. Auto-Rx to transmission.
-Flushed brake lines and added new fluid.
-Found outer boot on front passenger CV axle to be broken (temporary seal (Household Goop) applied).

8/26/08 107,623
-Added 2 ox. Auto-Rx to power steering reservoir (leave in for 1k miles, then drain and flush with new fluid).

8/29/08 107,680
-Installed four new coil packs and new spark plugs (BKR6E). Gapped to .30
-Installed new valve cover gasket (old gasket had complete break in it).
-Installed new windshield wiper blades (PITA until I started using my brain. Managed to break the damn windshield!!!).

8/31//08 107,726
-New instrument cluster installed. Checked lights per AW regarding a broken switch (all fine).

9/4/08 107,750
-Installed Powerflex "dog bones" (old ones were both very worn).
-Changed both tranny and differential fluid (14mm Allen). Each enclosure took ~ 2 quarts. Added ½ oz. Auto-Rx to each housing.
-Began touching up undercarriage light rust with rust converter.

9/5/08 107,766
-Installed new fuel filter (PITA).
-Installed new cabin filter.
-Installed new coolant sensor.

9/6/08 107,795
-Installed Koni FSD shocks. Shocks were rusted through to the point piston inside was visible(each side). Struts proved a bit more difficult than anticipated. Springs on all four axles look fine.
-Removed and cleaned oil pan. Cleaned oil pump screen (had flecks of aluminum or metal in the screen (oil bottle seal?)) and re-installed with new silicone sealant. Allowed to cure for 1.5 hours before filling pan with oil.
-Re-applied silicone to all CV boots and anything else that looked like rubber.
-Found inner boot on front passenger CV axle to be broken (temporary seal (household Goop) applied).

9/8/08 107,806
-Installed KONI FSD shocks and struts. VERY nice ride now!

9/13/08 107,818
-Cleaned throttle valve.
-Cleaned bottom of engine/transmission.

9/15/08 107,818
-Replaced all four Dog Bone bolts (used one drop of blue Locktite on each bolt).
-Replaced pinch bolts (used lock nuts).
-Installed new stock DV.
-Replaced post cat O2 sensor with Bosch universal sensor and watertight connector block (do not tin leads on this project).
-Performed throttle adaptation.

9/16/08 107,818
-Began installing Hose Technique SVH.

9/18/08 107,818
-Installed DEFCONs inserts.
-Sanded, painted, and re-installed control arms (new bolts and nuts (one drop red Locktite on each nut)). Greased smooth part of each bolt. New bolts and nuts used. Nuts torqued with wheels loaded.
-Replaced dipstick tube.

Note: NO CELs or other problem indicators after a pretty good amount of work done to car.

Upcoming:

-alignment
-fuel injector o-ring replacement

Default areas that are noted as "temporary fix" need attention.....>>>

first...

Based on your mileage i would do the front strut bearings as bushings.....i did not see it on your list....

Other than that, i would drive it....

Default You should come to Canada and do some preventative on mine ;) >>

I'd get that boot done quickly. It doesn't take very long without grease to fry the joints.

Get it chipped.

After your alignment I'd drive it for awhile and see how it feels.

Default Inspected inside of boot..."seems" fine, but not happy with it? Have both boots, so will redo

soon.

Chipped, even with 108K? Any suggestions (I loved my GIAC on the ar).

LOL, tried to get aligned today (see later post). Guys could not do it...sad.

Lastly, come to Canada? Me? I was stopped at the border for carrying a knife. Made me leave the knife while I visited.

My rates are cheap...beer, food, place to sleep and maybe a trade of something.

Default Thanks. Am HIGHLY motivated to ensure this car is road worthy BEFORE taking my trip. It will

be my sole source of transportation, so am hot to get it done. Most seems good, so now on to body and a few niceties (sound proofing, better speakers/amp, chip fixin', etc.).
