Hmm... MTM no more?
i know its not the 'fan favorite' but i loved MTM with the A4 and figured i'd go that route with the TT
guess i'll email Mike and hope they're still tuning!
but dont worry... if they don't at least i won't be posting a 'what chip should i get thread' :-P
I'm not waiting til 105k, im not waiting til the 'next inspection' @80k (at which i'm sure Audi will say change it)
I'll do it at the 70k mark
You'll get some 'I told you so's and things of that ilk, sure, but even those people will feel somewhat bad for you and the massive repair bill you'll be dealing with.
It's your choice, but you can expect us to keep making the suggestion until it gets done.
Hell, if you make it to 70k and get the car in for repair without a catastrophe, buy a lotto ticket that day. You'll be a VERY lucky guy.
Oh, also keep in mind that you're running the stock, plastic-impeller waterpump that was later revised. Even at 50k, mine had broken a few blades. Other people ended up with the impeller spinning right off the shaft.
Just an FYI.

after seeing plenty of timing belts come out at 60k, and more importantly water pumps. just do it.
it's 750-850 at an indy, a few bucks more than the chip he's looking at. which will just make his warantee go byebye when it breaks.
mine came out at 62k, water pump disintegrated in my hands, belt was cracked to hell, and the tensioner almost siezed. i was extremely lucky i did it when i did, if i waited another 8k i GUARANTEE YOU it would have broken.
Bringing Audi to Life for Audi Fans
another good one that few tried is O.ct, with driving characteristics very similar to Hoppen
worth checking out!
ps: after you change your belts/wp/tensioner
Audi said A-OK for the inspection... I have service records on the car
My service writer is a GOOD guy, if it should go boom, it's covered. He assured me of that
A new engine on Audi's dime isnt the WORST thing in the world in my book!
