HELP: Transmission oil smell after changed

I changed my transmission oil yesterday, but when I drove on freeway I smell the transmission oil for about 5 seconds and it is gone. But this morning when I drove on freeway, I smell it about 5 seconds again, I wonder what happend?
I pumped 3 3qts into transmission but the oil did not spill out. I wonder if I don't have enough oil in there? when I fill the oil, I drove my car on the ramp, so my car car wasn't leveled. Is that the problem caused the smell?

did you spill any on anything that its burning off? i'd get back under there to make sure>

uh, yeah, that's a problem. you probably overfilled

So what should I do if i overfilled?

DO I have to get my car leveled and open the fill hole? I will check later to see if I spill the oil on anything.

yeah open the fill with the car level.... let any overflow drain out.

odds are some of the excess came out a vent hole and hit the exhaust. but you don't want it overfilled, so definitely drain out any excess that remains.
