trans prob, auto 97 2.8Q

when the wheel is turned and i go from park to reverse i hear a thump and feel a little movement. took it to value trans and they said they couldnt get a read from my cars computer. any idea whats wrong or where i should take it?

Could be a few different things.....

Does it only happen when the wheel is turned? Both ways? Will it repeatedly thump if you do it more than once (without moving the car)? Does it thump when going fron park to drive?

Could the driveline shock when putting the car in gear just be more pronounced...

when the wheel is fully cocked (hehe) to one side or the other?

thats exactly whats going on. what could this be?
