Default Need some advice, got a ticket for failure to stop at stop sign

I never had a ticket before so need some advice.
1. Say I choose to pay $105 to go to school, so my insurance will not be affected. But, since I plead guilty, that means there will still be a record somewhere. What is the effect of such record?

2. So be it, I will pay only $75. Does 'failure to stop at stop sign' affect my insurance rate at all. After all it's not a speeding ticket.

3. Should I go to court? What happen if I lose? Can I still choose to go to school?

Thanks

Default Yeah, its really great when you know someone that can pull some strings...

otherwise be prepared to get hosed unless you feel like you can make a case that you did stop at the stop sign.

Chances are your arresting officer will be there...

Faced with this option I would
1. Try to get out of it the old fashioned way.
2. If that doesn't work, I'd probably pay the $105 and go to school. A moving violation is just as serious as a speeding ticket as far as your insurance co. is concerned.

Default It is a moving violation, can affect insurance. (m)

I believe that the records with traffic school are not "visible" to insurance checks.

and...

I agree with Eric, court is an ego boost. Not that Eric really needs an ego boost, he seems fairly confident.

Default Option 1 is an easy option.

I've done the online school 4 times and the in class one once. Apply for the online one it's cake and you can pound it out in around 2 hours if you want.

Default Thanks ...

Consider all options, $105 and school seems the best way to put this event to rest.

Default I get a lawyer for any tickets. I got better things to do with my time than sit in driving school!!

You'd be suprised what they charge. You can have a lawyer handle your ticket for between $75 - $125.

It's totally worth it! You may end up paying a little more in the long wrong, but it's worth your time (mine at least). When you go to court you go first, you don't have to wait with all the other pond scum. Your dude will usually hook you up with some kind of deal, and definately no school.

Sometimes you don't even need to go to court the lawyer will take care of everything for you. That's nice!

Lawyers are good for something!

Try going to court in rural Iowa. If you have sleeves, you are considered "dressed up".
