2004 A6 Cell Phone Install
I'm in Madison (WI) and looking for a cell phone installer for a hands-free blue-tooth installation. Main objective is auto-mute on stereo but would like to use built-in speakers and mic if exists.

Thanks PaulW but my understanding is the 2004 is not same as 2000. I can't find the DB-25 and not sure one exists. I'm still searching for answers.
I do not have OnStar. Here are some of my questions. Any answers appreciated.
Where is 2004 A6 equivelant of DB-25?
Does 2004 A6 have built-in mic?
Does 2004 A6 have built-in nav/phone speaker? Or, can it use audio when muted?

The DB-25 and the old wiring scheme has been elimited with the cars wired for the new digital
handsets. Basically if you car has telematics (On-Star) as an option there is no DB25 connector like the older cars that were setup for the analog phone.
People have been able to integrate with the newer system, but I don't know the details.

You don't need the DB-25
All you need to do is cut the speaker wires between the hands free box and the speaker itself. Hook them into the Phone (+) and Phone (-) on your 10 pin connector (I think it's the 10 pin) on the back of your radio (all markings are on top of your radio). Hook the phone mute into the phone mute wire (probably pin 1 of the 10 pin) on your radio and you're done.
If you want to find switched, unswitched and ground, it should also be on your 10 pin.
That's it. The radio is already wired to the B pillar speaker.
Here's a picture of my hook up on my Nav Plus unit, only shows the speaker hook up, but essentially the same. I just did this on an 00 with a blue tooth, couldn't be easier.
