Default What are some good places to get springs put on?

Place in Peoria wants $220. NO shocks just springs. I'd like to attempt it myself, but i dont think i want to take the risk, and i dont have the right tools. I keep hearing it's dangerous.

Default I dunno about dangerous...

$220 isnt bad though. Its the same amount of work wether you change the shocks are not.

Default Something about ....

If you dont put the clamp on right it can fly off and severely damage something. And if your in the way it'll mess you up. From the directions ive read it doesnt seem to bad. Specially if i have semi-experienced people there. But ya you're right its the same price for just springs or a combo. I cant afford shocks right now, because just a few days ago i was involved in a hit and run and have to pay fora new bumper.

Default I might have to give it a try. Anybody up there have the right tools?

I'd be willing to make the drive and provide food or whatever, if anyone has done it before and wants to help. It sucks not being in a big city when you want to do things like this.

Default Ehhhhhhhhh, with the design of the front shocks I definitely wouldn't want to try to

do it without a spring compressor. Removing the strut mount nut is awkward, and when it comes off under pressure the tools you're using could break your hands/fingers and the nut will fly like a bullet.

If you have a compressor and some common sense, you'll be fine.

Default If you're going to do springs *OR* shocks, do shocks.

You're best off doing both though.
