OK, so I bought an A6 4.2...

I'm in desperate need of a set of 255 / 40 17's that I can get on the car rapidly in order to have it certified (dealer won't certify with worn tires). I was wondering if any of you guys out there have a set cluttering up your garage?

does it have to have the stock wheels?

you could borrow my oz wheels with those size tires on them if you want. Best I could do for you.

What did it come with?

Mine were 255/45/17 Dunlops stock.

I guess what I'm trying to figure out is, why does'nt the dealer give you new tires if you just purchased it?

Whats the real deal here?

I have 255 /40 / 17's also (p6000s) need to put same size on to certify...

I want to get snows on these 17's and BBS CH's in 18 for summers. I don't want to buy new 255's that im not going to use in the future. Problem is that the tires I put on for certification have to be 50% tread or better.
