Monday July 12th came and went without anybody

mentioning the "Disco Demolition" 25th anniversary. WTTW had a great show about it.
Guess everyone here was like 2-3 years old in 1979. I still think "Disco sucks".

Eh,

it got plenty of coverage in both the local and National news (CNN even did a bit on it). I remember it, but it's really just a curious footnote in our local history.

By accident of course... at least it put an
end to disco. Thank God.

Sucessful in that the game was cancelled and the field was damaged?

Or successful as in "another brilliant Bill Veeck promotion"?

Besides, I'd take disco back in a heartbeat if rap "music" would disappear from the face of the earth.

No it was the first time thay had like 70K show up!

and it took Dahl @ the Loop to do it, not Veck.
I thought you watched the WTTW show?
You can have your disco, old man. At least it's not the 2 worst types of music on the planet-"Country & Western".

Probably the last time they'll ever see 70k as well.

Didn't catch the WTTW show, but I'm totally with you on the C&W thing. But still, I would take Disco over Rap any day of the week. At least they were songs...
