I don't know the man...nor have any plans to talk to him or email him. What exactly are you implying? I am just telling everyone to move on..nothing to see here...get back in your cars and motor on down the highway..so to speak. What is so bad about putting all this crap behind us?

I can appreciate the fact that you did what you had to do....
.... for the greater good. I would have liked to see some key questions answered before it died.
I guess you did let it go on long enough for people to have the opportunity to answer the questions but they just chose not to. I suppose you gave it a fair shake, if people want to discuss it further in a civilized manner I assume that would be OK right?

Why that is wrong.....
Simply becasue nothing was resolved over the issue. It still looms over the Chicago Audi community and just becasue it has been taken off the board does not make it go away. Rational claims were made and an irrational sounding person never made any sort of coherant rebuttal. The level of conversation may have hit an all time low on the board and that might have ditracted form the issue at hand. A sertain individual was given the opportunity to explain himself but never took the chance. Enough of us have made up our mind about him and his business that occurances like this will not happen again becasue he is no longer recognised as a valid parts distributer or reputable person to have work on our cars.

Don't know if "civilized manner" is possible at this point
As you may know many times vendors/shops/etc are discussed on the forums...sometimes good..sometimes bad...usually vendors get a mixture of people saying good and bad things about them. I think this community should be allowed to warn people about vendors that they had a bad experience with. So that other may avoid the same issues. The same holds true for Audi dealerships..and specific dealership sales and service staff. Anyway, a post from a Chicagoan that specifically had issues with a shop should be allowed.
We have had lots of pissing wars here in the past...with people like Greg Woo @ Neuspeed for example..notice he never posts here anymore. Did you ever see Tim Hildebrand from New Dimensions post here? Nope, not that I can recall. What about anyone at Total Audi Performance or LLtek?..or even Greedspeed?
Anyway, I suggest that this issue be dropped from the forums altogether for a period of two weeks. Then we can reassess if it can be discussed in a civilized manner. Let me know what you think.
