Has anyone here put Nitrogen in their tires?
The "dry" will help prevent corrosion. The no oxygen prevents oxidation (go figure).
As for rolling resistence....I would like to hear that one. Normal atmosphere is almost all nitrogen already (~78%).
Overall. I would say skip. Not worth $20 to me.
The rolling resistance is a function of tire pressure, not the composition of the air in the tires. I check my pressures about every other week. (Or 4 times a day if I am at the track.) I visually check my tire every day. I wear thru the tread way before my sidewalls deteriorate due to oxidation. The rim integrity has some merit, but if you are not running steel wheels (Aluminum alloy wheels) it is minimal. Aluminum oxidizes almost instantly; the advantage is that this oxidation then "seals" the metal preventing further oxidation. Almost the opposite of carbon steel.
Again, in my opinion...The reward (if even noticeable to a normal driver) is not worth the effort. If you want to be really lazy and never check your tire pressures, then sure N2 will help. But save the $20 and check your tire often.
Exception.... it is for a "weekend" car that sees very few miles, infrequent driving, and no winters (long storage). Then it might be worth it. My summer tires last 2 seasons max. My winter's get maybe 3. They are replaced before deterioration is an issue.
