Default Do you want it done right or do you want to do it twice?

There are a lot of shady aftermarket parts out there - particularly control arms. A lot of the guys here got burned with these and ended-up replacing them.

If you do go to an independent shop, INSIST that they use OEM parts. Maybe YOU don't feel that suspension is important, but I would rather have the peace of mind that it was done by someone who is properly trained and who is using the right parts. I don't want to be thinking about my control arms being questionable in the front straight at Garattan with the 90 degree turn at the end.

Besides, when it comes to alignments, only an Audi dealer can correctly do the job by checking and adjusting bump steer. Sure, other alignment shops can do a decent job, but their software does not allow this one specification to be checked - it's an OEM thing.

It's worth a little more to get the job done right, IMHO.

Default Sorry for slow response...

Are you sure you need inner tie rods as well? I know the outers can seize to the inners but if they aren't seized or worn, there is no need to replace them and that would cut down on your repair bill. If you're unsure you can always schedule an appointment and I can take a look at it and let you know upfront if the inners will need to be replaced as well. Even if I can save one out of the two, it will save you some money. To help put you at ease you can specifically request that I do the work on your car and I am sure a few people will attest that I am honest about the work that I do. I am at the dealer Monday through Thursday with exception of every once in a while a track day that my boss has generously decided to sponsor my soon to be company paid for stage 3 car. But, since most track days are weekends, this shouldn't be an issue. If I can answer any other questions, feel free to email me.
