Anyone know of a driving school (North suburbs pref) that teach stick shift?

Coming from the UK, you have to take your test in a manual transmission, but that's not the case for my American wife.

I've tried to teach her a couple of times, but it doesn't go very well... Called a few schools, and they all acted like they'd never been asked before.

Does anyone know of one, or is this just not done by driving schools?

try renting a manual trans car or borrow a friends junker.

No schools around here that I know of but any of the ACNA members can help if you are in a pinch.

70$ in hour in Mini. I saw them while seaching for Bike school. Don't remember any other info.

same issues with my girlfriend, would love to teach her on a honda..

and move her over to audi, completely different clutches, having honda as the easiest clutch i've ever driven.

Generally speaking, it's a mistake

for a husband or boyfriend to try to teach a wife or girlfriend how to drive stick. It's far better for a third party to do this. Of course there are always exceptions, but they are rare. I'm just sharing my observations gathered over the last 30 years on this topic.

Find someone with a beater to learn the basics.
