What are the State troopers doing on Edens today?
State police cars were sitting aside a number of entrance ramps on southbound Edens this morning (at least 9-9:30am at Dempster and Touhy southbound on-ramps). Sitting right next to the small green/red traffic control lights. Several had cars pulled over somewhere farther down the ramps. Multiple squads at each entrance ramp, but not exactly roadblocks...
What was going on? Couldn't have been people sliding through red lights--the cops were sitting right there. Valid license plate checks, maybe?

I know
They have one guy with a hand held radar gun standing on an overpass. He has no car so you won't notice him until it's too late. He clocks you and radios your speed to the troopers in cars and they pull you over.
