Default noob - lookin for recomm. body shop

'01 A4 1.8tq tip. Hey, everyone. I'm new to the wonderful world of Audi performance, and already got into a fender bender. Scuff the rt frt bumber before wheelwell, popped out the entire 1-piece headlamp, slight crease in fender and chipped the paint between grill and headlamp. Anybody got a cheap set of lights, US or eCode?

Default Couldnt tell ya...

...I felt right at home at Huron, but it was a tad bit involved....long story, accident + lots of RS 6 parts to replace stock, part delays, insurance adjustments, etc etc...Gerber on Huron dealt with my BS amidst me getting the parts myself and dropping them off in a half dozen different visits, a 6 week delay on some of the parts while they stored my car without complaints and they really went a long way to gain my business which means just as much to me as the great work they did when all's said and done. On top of that, it was a fraction of the price I expected to pay, especially considering the circumstances.

Default Sorry Im too lazy to recount all the things they screwed up...

Suffice it to say it involved:

Faulty parts and often times wrong parts

A rough and spotty paint job

Scratches and dings all over the car on the areas not even part of the repair. Just no respect for customer property

Lousy communication and customer service

About 30 days later than expected due to poor workmanship

I was taking that car back in to repair mistakes and faulty parts 6 months after the initial accident. I even had to take it to the Exchange a few times to get things fixed that the Gerber people messed up and just couldn't figure out (you know, complicated stuff like a one inch diameter hole in the intake manifold in PLAIN VIEW with the hood open) . I was having the Exchange just bill Gerber directly for the repairs.

Let's just say that they ****ed up my car so bad I was grateful when I totaled it and was able to get out of the loan.

Now while I can't comment specifically on all their shops I will say the one on Milwaukee Ave just north of Lake Cook is a shop full of people that should have chosen a different career path because really, auto repair are not their strong point.
