Any of you guys renting a garage in a city, separate of your apt./condo?
What's the going rate...I'm on NW side, in Old Irving park.
I'm planning ahead for a possible winter project which will require a garage...motor swapping fun.

if you want heat... it is gonna cost more. I have a buddy who was paying $150 for a 2 car garage, but no heat, minimal insulation, etc. Not a great engine swapping area.
A couple friends and I have rented a garage in skokie just off the dempster 94 exit... we are storing 3 cars with room to work on all 3, LOTS of storage, heat, elec, etc. Concrete so it is insulated well. We could probably fit 5 cars and storage, but it would get tight. We are paying $540/month for that...

Yeah...that's a bit steep for me...a couple portable heaters can do the trick in a simple garage...
I think. I checked Craig's list...they go from $70 and up. I know some people with a 2 car garage and 1 car who rented it to me before for $50 but I wouldn't want to be doing a lot of work in their garage...maybe, if I don't find anything more suitable.

Ummm, my buddy found it...
I think we looked at CL and the reader, but I'll ask him today.... we were looking for places like that, and we were all over the map, south side, west side, NW IN, etc...
