Default Re: you familiar with the term "exercise" and/or "alternate efficient transportation"?

Last winter in an "indoor time trial" on my computrainer, http://www.racermateinc.com/compu_pro3d.asp,

i cooked 589 calories in a 20K (half hour). Then I ate a stuffed pancakes and replenished the damage.

Default Rollers are tough man, good luck.

Mine is just a trainer, heavy duty so I can really get the watts up going uphill, sprinting, etc... I love my CT, with the GPS sofware, I can map ANY road in the U.S. and ride it. I mapped out a group ride I used to do in San Diego and rode it 2x a week on the trainer. It's pretty sweet, the software simulates mountains pretty well, the resistance goes up so hard at times that you can't push the pedals unless you're standing up (which is what you'd have to do if you were actually on the moutain).

I also mapped out Mt.Lemmon, a 26+ mile climb in Tucson, and had that programmed on the trainer, didn't do that ride as much though.

Default It uses GPS info, so elevation and dist.change = incline

So the resistance goes up accordingly, and it's very accurate and the "feel" is amazing. Only problem is if you're going up an incline of like 20%+, and then it's hard to keep the rear wheel from spinning (also realistic I guess.) There's a short section in the SD ride where you'd be weaving back and forth across the road, well with the trainer you can't do that and so there's some wheel slippage.

The thing is all digital, not sure exactly how it increases the resistance, just does.

For me to train correctly with the weather here, I had to buy this thing. W/O it I wouldn't have been able to be in the right form come March.

Default Complete???!

Is that safe?

Lots of drilled out components (specially on teh crank).

Neat rear derailleur.

Are those Zero Gravity brake calipers?

Nice fork!

I could go on and on, but thats impressive, not even legal race weight!

I'm almost finished myself:
