Back on the road
Well, I got my steering rack fixed. Paid around $750 for everything including tax to a mechanic just south of Milwaukee -- and that includes a 1 year warranty on labor and lifetime warranty on parts (although I didn't get any paperwork to confirm that....) It was tough getting it there, but this is half of the lowest price I could find around Chicago. Oh well, it's been 5 days and the car still hasn't broken down! I am amazed 
So I began doing little projects. Hardwired Valentine One, planning on putting my new Momo shift **** on the car today and hopefully will hardwire a bluetooth kit. BTW, I bought a grill kit on eBay. What I got is a set of plastic chrome-looking strips with adhesive. I thought "what the heck" and put it on. Ugh! From 50 feet away it looks nice, but up close... My car looks like one of thos Ford Fiestas you see around east Rogers Park (you know, with neon lights and 10" wheels that stick out way outside the body, and hand-mand pinstriping that's anything but even). Oh well, down goes the kit. You get what you pay for, I guess.
