2000 Audi S4 Stage III+

Yes gentlemen,
I finally went for it.
The S4 has become a Stage III+.
Many thanks has to go to Al and crew at Chicago Performance & Tuning.
They did a lot of hard work and troubleshooting.
Now I wish I only knew how to drive.
Now that I am VERY broke, I need to be saving for a big brake kit and then a suspension (yes, I am still on stock suspension)
Anyways, suspension can wait, I still gotta learn how to drive and how this beast drives on the track.

Here is the list of what has been added/changed:
GIAC Flashloader Chip (Programs: Stock, 91oct, 100oct, Valet, Kill)
GIAC Flashloader Switcher (to change above programs)
AWE K04 Turbo Kit
AWE Fueling Kit
AWE Downpipes with Test Pipes
AWE Twin 2 Cat-Back Exhaust
5 bar Fuel Pressure Regulator

why are you using a 5bar if you got the AWE fueling kit too?

how much did AL charge ya for install?

any reason you went with the AWE kit, instead of a homebrew 3- kit with hybrid turbos?

 

sweet...I saw your car their last week.......

 

...but that was one of the troubleshoooting he had to do. For some reason after the kit was installed, the car ran lean. His similar setup has a 5 bar so he put the regulator from his car to test it is it ran just fine. Hence he installed the 5 bar in my car. Now why it ran lean with the 4 bar, I cannot answer as I am deficient in knowledge of interal combustion engines (as well as deficient in many other areas).

Al charges 'bout 80/hour for labor, but please call him as my cost included many repairs that he did due to a timing belt issue (which started this whole mod ball rolling).

As for why I went with the AWE kit, I am only fimiliar with the K04 kits (AWE, APR, MTM, AMS...etc). I was only looking for those complete "off-the-shelf" kits.

Hopefully that answers some of the questions....
if not, please be patient as I am not a mechanic.

.....because of the cost of the "repairs" and the upgrades, my wife has grounded me from any events for 2 years or until I replenish the funds which is in about 2 years. So, basically my season is over. I will be missing the autobahn this year. I think I have pushed my luck too far already.

But I have not yet mentioned that there is an auto-x coming up. You MIGHT see me there. We'll see if I can get away with it.

As for next's years event, I might be able to sweet talk her into a couple. You guys know me, the sweet man that I am.

 

You talked her into Stage three, but you can't get her to let you spend any dough on becoming a safer driver?

And shame on you for letting her control your automotive spending habits. You need to adopt the policy of the U.S. Military - "Don't ask - don't tell".

 

....now I have to pay the repercussions of that.

She mentioned something about going shopping and the word "denied" coming up on the machine that peeved her.
I told her, "I just don't know haw that happened."

 

The AWE Fueling Kit picture shows that it has a fuel pressure regulator with the kit.
I asked Al and he contacted AWE and they said that the picture is an old picture and they use the stock 4 bar regulator instead.
But because my car was running lean, Al suggested to install the 5 bar and he did.
