Default Experience at MCGrath

I took my car to McGrath this morning ... to get some work done, and the Service associate said he may have to keep the car overnight. I was ok with that but i asked him if they give any service loaners. (Continental always gave me one and so is the exchange). This dude says - well you can rent a car for $30/ day. Then he says no loaners unless you buy the car from us. It sounded funny to me. Wonder why would they discriminiate between those who bought the car and others take the car for serivice.... Wonder if that same discrimination applies to the level of service i receive there.

I thought about just cancelling the appoitnment and take my business elsewere. Anyway i was there so i left my car there. Hope it comes back in good shape.

Atleast today i did not care much about the loaner - I had alternate Transportation - but i sitll can not take the fact that they discriminate - US vs Them policy.
so if i move am i supposed to take the car back to wherever i bought for service ?
Should i write to Audi about this ? I did meet the Regional manager for Audi in the Audi contest.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Default Its pretty standard as far as Audi dealers go...

The exchange and Schaumburg do it the same way. They want to make sure the people who bought cars there get frist dibs. It makes for repeat customers.

Default McGrath Contd .....

Well The srvice rep said my car is ready for pick up i am going today. But not sure if i will go again. This is not the first time I felt ill treated.

My front passenger window gets stuck all the time , and for the nth time they have lubricate it... (2nd time this is getting done in McGrath - Car is still under Audi advantage wonder what is preventing them from replacing it!!

In the past 3 trips i had gone there - they did not even wash the car, I had to specifically ask them to do that.(perhaps i should buy the car to get a wash ? ) However Continental cleans the car both inside and outside.

Default I've had loaners from both Schaumburg and the exchange...only bought one car (not the one I serviced

most from the Exchange). I have not had a problem ever getting a loaner from either dealer if I made the appointment in advance requesting a loaner. The exchange tried to do that once and we threatened to take our service elsewhere. We got the loaner, they screwed up the service and I then did go to Schaumburg since...mainly due to having clients near there so easier for me to get to it...sick of the 3 hour round trips to the Exchange.
