Anyone know where I can find radio removal tools locally for an '00 Symphony?
Oh, I stopped by Schaumburg Audi on my lunch break thinking they would have them, or at least be able to disengage the locking mechanism for me. No such luck & I can't say I walked away satisfied with the answer. I left shaking my head because I got a poor explanation as to why they couldn't help. This is just another in a series of what I would term nuisance visits -- as in I feel like a nuisance because I just never feel welcome. I almost wish I didn't buy my car there. Oh well...
So anyone have any ideas? Would a car stereo shop have them or is my best bet to go back online? Thx,
as for the removal tool, apparently you can make the tool using an old plastic ID card.

if that doesn't work for you, mercedes-benz uses the same type of keys to remove a lot of there radios. you can buy a set at the dealer.
if you print this out and cut out from an old credit card, will work like a charm. obviously not necessary to also cut out the circular handles.
Cheers.

I think I have it right, just would rather take advice than learn by breaking something.
I have a symphony from a 2000 A4.
Currently the orientation of the taper in the key is:
