Had a blast this weekend. Before anything I would just like to thank whomever paired me up with Skiff for my instructor. We were a good match as far as the instructor/student thing goes. Really fun guy to have in the passenger seat. Only got in trouble once which isn't too bad for a three day event..

This was the first event that I've run R-compounds and Wow what a diff those things make. I'm runing the Nitto NT-01's 245/40/18 on Kosei K3's 18X8.5 et 35 20lbs a wheel. The alcons were great. Ran the SBS pro race almost to the backing plates and never got any brake fade. Modulation was excellent and the brakes really inspired greater confidence vs my previous setup.

Someone (to remain nameless) ended up cracking Jasons rotors and he had to drive back home to pick up his "replacement" car. A 996 convertible with track pads, roll bar, GT3 seats, and harnesses.

All in all a great weekend. Once I figure out how to transfer video to my laptop I will post up some vid's of the south track and the furll track. Please don't make fun of my driving too bad when I do that Thanks to everyone who put this on!

on behalf of the club I would like to offer my apologies for the rotors and car trouble. The instructor you were paired with should not have driven your car in any manner that would induce accelerated brake wear or damage.

The folks at Chevy make a very nice van, don't they?

 

on the rotors to begin with. The cracks extended to the edges by the end of the first day.

It happens. I'm just glad I had a "back-up" car to use.

Looks like I'll be tracking the P-car more this year since it's waaay more fun than my S4.

And, FWIW, I was offered new rotors by the instructor (very generous offer) which I declined since they really were needing replacement.

Thanks again for all the fun - - this track stuff is like crack cocaine, just more expensive and more addicting!

Skiff has a lot of talent and is always, ALWAYS a lot of fun and is always enthusiastic.
