Anyone else watch the Champ Car race fro Vegas? What a joke. BOOOORING. And the story
is Champ Car is on it's way back? Who are they kididing.
More than half the cars didn't finish the race and there were no real two or more car incidents. More than half the cars seem to have any signicant livery from sponsors, the leader won by 17 seconds, about 1/4 of the drivers were decided in the last 10 days. Nobody in the stands (few they had appeared far from full on tv, ran on a sloooooooow track with no landmarks or interesting points. They were in Vegas, for God's sake. How could they have failed at making the scenery interesting?
Only thing worse was NBC's coverage. Thank God they only have three races (CBS 4, Speed the rest). Timing/scoring and data on the broadcast was terrible and often inaccurate (had Sebas leading at the first break). Didn't even catch Sebas's crash and the announcers never even mentioned what happened to him (damn three time series champion!).
Announcers/color made errors that would make you think it was their first race.
And to think many thought this series was on the rebound. I had hoped. But for a spec series to have that many failures and that much of a wining margine is ridiculous.
First outing was an embarrassment on all accounts. Second worst open wheel race to the first IRL race, IMO.

Nope. I only watch F1. I keep up with the others by watching Speed Report highlights.
I'm not a sit on the sofa all day Sunday watching sports kind of guy. I've never been a fan of temp street circuits anyway, which generally mean few cars finish. There are a lot of things wrong with Champ Car, one of them is the ****ed up TV package. Some of the other things I don't like are push to pass, one engine, one chassis, one tire, etc. Those are the same things I don't like about the IRL too. I think they both suck and have a long way to go before I start watching regularly. The only American open wheel race I watch is the Indy 500. After that is over, it's back to watching a few minutes of highlights per week.
