What is the secret to a good Fleabay purchase?
nemesisA6's post has me scratching my head about my own recent experiences. How does a buyer on ebay deal with sellers who are totally non-responsive.
I've bought two things on ebay in the past 2 weeks- a tail for the 911 and a Sparco Evo seat. I've paid both sellers, and have yet to receive any communication from either seller with shipping info or even confirmation of payment receipt. I bought a digital camera last month and same thing. No communication, no UPS tracking info, the camera just showed up 2 weeks later (not 3 day shipping as promised.)
A whaletail and a one piece seat are not small items and I need to have an idea of when they will arrive to ensure I'm around to take possession. Can't ask an elderly neighbor to carry a whaletail into their living room for me.
So anyone have words of wisdom for me?? I'm aobut to quit the whole ebay thing. Sorry for the rant.

Sellers without recent multiple positive feedback don't get my eBay business. And on bigger...
...items like you mention, I tend to rely on pre-bid e-mails in part to gauge whether they're responsive.
Maybe you did all that, and still hit some goofballs. And I've been there, too.

I would look at the long term feedback,
recent feedback could be made to look like the seller is a good one, for example, I can get all of my friends to buy something from me to get a few 100% feedback scores and then try selling something expensive that is a scam.

File a complaint with Ebay, they will send the seller a letter,
they will more then likely get back to you. If not, Ebay will help collect your money. Also, Paypal is a good tool as they will secure you up to $2K with fraud sellers?
