So how much can Doug get out of my 944?

Nah, it's not mine. But all of a sudden there seems to be an abundance of red 944's! Three of them at his shop right now and a couple more laying around the shop.
3 in this picture alone counting the one under the car cover.

That's my goal for the 911...
But when you start at just 2850, that goal is a bit easier to attain:
Remove both 8way power seats..... -60 lbs
Remove all A/C components......-40 lbs from the tail of the car.
Remove both bumpers and replace with Yellow Bird repllicas.... -30 front, -40 rear.
Seats are already out, and so is A/C so I'm already down to 2750 or so. Bumpers will be my winter project and that should get me to about 2675. Then the serious work will have to start.
