I was with Abigail in the "red car" headed to costco to pick up some laundry soap and diapers. As I got off of 294 @ Willow, the merge landed me right in front of a cop. He quickly eyeballed the car, clicked a few keys on his laptop and hit the lights.

I gave him the finger (correct one) and pulled over. He told me what he had pulled me over for an expired registration sticker and asked me for my drivers license, new registration and insurance card.

Well, all five moons were in the wrong direction. That AM, I had refreshed everything in the car (so I thought). New id card, new registration - the whole works. I gave him my DL, took out the huge book of papers and told him that "This might take a few mins.....".

He said that he would be "right back". After sifting through the papers for a few mins, I couldn't find anything. Dang! But I did find the registration from the prior year (expired only 10 days ago) & some other important piece of paper... I'll get to that in a minute.

When the cop came back he said, "Any luck?" I told him that I had a deal of a lifetime. I had the prior years registration and the kids immunization records. He laughed and gave me a warning.

I also couldn't resist opening the window and letting a chatty 3yr old talk about life with a cop. The 2 of them had a wonderful 10 minute conversation and we left.

Hah!

 

I was busy in the man cave. We should have a northsider's GTG there soon.
