Don't know exactly what he means by "for engine out on a 2.7t"
If he means a used engine then he's looking at $2500 to $3500 at the top end (most are had for $3k)
Pulling an engine should be no more than $2k which includes putting it back in the car. I've only paid $1200 but that's on the low range (Vast performance not cpt).
