Winter set up on - and that's not such a bad thing!!
Thanks to a fellow Chicago-area AWer, I was able to score a set of 5 C5 4.2 forged "sport" wheels at a great price. The AW classifieds sold my previous winters, 17" B5 S4 rims (ex-of "Spartan S4"). I swapped the Pilot Alpins, and walla!, a better-looking ride for the cold months.
The extra 1/2 inch of width and more aggressive offset make these a much better fit, IMO. (sorry for the crappy phone-cam-in-the-early-evening pic quality):

So, I'm ready for our trip to Minneapolis this weekend, even if it snows!

Guess so. Prolly 'cause I mentioned that we're considering a Q7 as a replacement....
...for the wife's car, which is 7 years old this month.

Joy...I have an A6 loaner at least from them...sudden need of repair for upper control arms that
I hope they can fix by tomorrow night (remaining fingers crossed) or their loaner is going for a nice thanksgiving drive...had lowers/links/stabilizer bar all replaced a month ago but now the uppers are totally shot with the bushings just plain gone...thank you Al with CPT for noticing...kinda wished that was caught then as it is screwing up my trip plans. So all new front suspension at 54K for the RS6...thank goodness for CPO. DRC is starting to leak in fronts...ride still ok but for how long who knows.

No idea who is working on it as this is the second time ever I brought the car there as Conti had no
open time to attempt to get it done in the next day or two. Place was full of cars...not sure if they have any idea how good it would be to get my car done in time...home for the holidays is not a close by proposition.

...I REALLY didn't want to put the miles for the round-trip to Minneapolis on my car, if I could have avoided it.
