OMG, found my old '86 911 that I'd ordered new in '86. Now I wish I hadn't...
Was following some threads on Pelican (a Porsche forum) and saw this thread. Knowing there can't be more than one 86 911, black with red leather and VA registration (Porsche says only 35 911's were built for '86 in that color combination), I shot the guy an email hinting at some of the mods I'd done on the car. He emailed me back with even more mods I'd done and even knew my name. Same VIN.
What a shame to see it end up this way. If I'd known it had been available for sale, I'd have bought it back in a heartbeat. At least I'm back in an '86 again though it still pains me to know my car ended up like that. Damn.<ul><li><a href="http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=378556">What a shame</a></li></ul>

Too bad it ended up that way. Sounds like it was very tastefully modified by the PO ;-)
Who knows, maybe it'll turn out well.

Just kidding, but it looks fixable. Still, some memories are better left in the past and not revisited. That car looks rode hard and put away wet. If you were to acquire it, I think all of the reasons you got rid of it might come rushing through your head and it's likely a host of new reasons might surface as well.
There is an excellent column about looking back in the current Autoweek. The author's name excapes me right now, but he's the bald gentleman. I am looking forward to showing the article to my dad, as they both had a German built Capri with the 2.8L in the late 70s.
