Noise diagnosis

Symptom: thump thump thump like flat tire from RR of car. Gets quieter under acceleration and coasting. Loudest under steady cruise. Tire is inflated and lug nuts tight. My gut feeling is bearing is about to go. Anyone concur with my diagnosis?

bearing or ice/snow in the tire. also out of balance or CV joint boot failure and wear

I agree with Chris below. First thing to check is ice / snow stuck on the inside of the.....

.... wheel or other rotating places. Been doing doughnuts in a parking lot somewhere or drifting the corners? That will pack the snow inside the wheel big time.
