Default Brake pads...what to get? ABCC is getting closer and I'm signing up...

My Coupe is down to about 2,900lbs. Porsche 997 C2 calipers up front and B5S4 stock on the back - both are big upgrade from stock. I want something that will be good enough but last a tad longer and I don't want to boil my fluid with super agressive pads. I am not too hard on brakes either...its easy when you have 130whp ;-) I also care about good modulation as I eliminated ABS. Don't need something that will grab, not let go and lock up easy.

I've run stock Porsche Textars up front and Mintex red box in the back and it was a OK at Blackhawk. A bit better at ABCC south. So, if I get something better in the back what would be a good Hawk or Pagid compound to go for in the front??

for back, I always like Hawk HP+ myself

for milder front, you can try EBC Yellowstuff.. I used them with success on my 993 fronts and SRT4

...but be warned, you might get a ton of different responses to this...

There seems to be a 'zen' of brake pads and many will work nicely.. and many will have strong opinions..

I've tryed many pads and like many for different reasons.

I like the EBC Yellowstuff www.perfectbrakes.com sells them because of low dust, can drive to/from the track and they didnt' get melty or ruin the rotors or squeel like crazy.

I liked the Hawk HP+ in back due to wear (takes a long time to wear out) and seemed kinder to brakes than hawk HT10 or Hawk Blues...

We see tons of problems with all EBC stuff. I recommend Carbotech or Pagid.

Default Hawk DTC-70's

My faves great modulation, NEVER fade, but with so much less weight you probably don't need to go that nuts.

Call Hawk and ask them what they think.
