Can someone clarify the event schedule for ABCC for me?
So if I were only able to do Sat Sun, I would only get to drive one day?
After a few short classroom sessions (which continue through the weekend), you will be driving your car in on-track exercises designed to hone your skills. Next it's on to the track where you will be paired one-on-one with an experienced instructor. Saturday will take you on to the 1.5 mile, 9-turn North Track to put your newly learned skills to the test. When Sunday morning comes around you and your instructor will be driving the challenging 2.06-mile long, 15 turn South Track with it's 1844' back straight that allows you to experience your car's dynamics at elevated speeds. On Monday (optional, but encouraged) you put it all together on the combined 3.53-mile long 21-turn course. The combined course is only available to members of this exclusive country club a few times a year and we are proud of the fact that The Chicagoland Chapter has been allowed access to this track since the facility's opening.
I'm just trying to compare this to other events I've done through BMWCCA.
And if it makes sense $ wise to drive 5 hours for this.
Sunday starts like Sat ended. Your run group will rotate thru for 20-30 minutes sessions. Usually 5-6 sessions on Sunday.

To clarify:
Sat morning is classroom and exercises on the track.
Sat afternoon is you driving with an instructor riding with you. You may wish to have your instructor drive for a few laps so you can get familiar with the track.
Sunday- you drive all run sessions, with an instructor in the right seat. Depending on your ability and number of events, you could get signed off to solo on Sunday.
Monday is again you in the left seat all day, just a different track.
Depending on how many students sign up, the density of the run groups can be pretty nice so not a lot of slow traffic. Besides, we're more fun than BMW CCA (coming from a long time BMW CCA member and former instructor).

Right hand seat is almost as good as the left. (unless you have a right hand drive Mini, then reverse it)
