Agree...

De Lorenzo is an industry insider but, more and more, I find his opinions out of touch with economic reality. His views are definitely entrenched in a different time. His opinions are myopic and xenophobic.

Porsche needs VW and VW needs Porsche for various reasons that, at this time, I will not elaborate on. I could spend the remainder of the afternoon drafting that reply, but I will politely refrain.

If you want an interesting perspective, read anything written by Peter Schutz,...

the President, CEO of Porsche AG from '81 to '88. He was brought in from Caterpillar trackor in Peoria Il. to run Porsche and basically saved it with the introduction of the 944. One of the most engagining motivational speakers I have ever heard. His premise is to motivate ordinary people to do extraordinary things. He did not have nice things to say about the family involved in management of the company.
