Just took 65lbs out of the B7... now how do I remove the rear seats? ...

Default Just took 65lbs out of the B7... now how do I remove the rear seats? ...
Just getting ready to take her out on the track for the first time so wanted to see how much weight I could get her to lose.
Took the headrests, trunk mat, tool kit, oem jack, and spare wheel out of the car today and it came out to a total of 65lbs!!!

Now...

- Anyone know how to remove those rear seats?
- i'm betting they're about 20lbs

Default Leave the front headrests in!
The rear seat probably weighs less than you think, but you seem like a man on a mission.

Default Few things...
The idea of tracking a street car, IMO, is to learn how car behaves so you can enjoy it 100% on the street and be safer at the same time. So, leave it in street trim.

Second, with any quattro car, you want to take weight from the front. I know, easier said than done, but...

Perhaps move a battery to the trunk. Easy project that helps a bit and prolongs your battery life;-)

And finally, as Bill said, leave the headrests in!

No no don't worry, i was talking about the rear headrests, did not take out the fronts

Default If you are going to be at ABCC with the Audi club in April I can show you there.
The seat bottom weighs very little but the seat back is somewhat weighty. The only issue with pulling the seat back is an air bag connector will need to be unplugged so you will have an air bag light.
