Navigation/RNS-E Request for Help!
Hey Guys,
So I just had the Navigation installed by the dealership on my '07 S4 Avant. They encountered a few problems and I'm wondering if any of you could shed some light on this:
I've now lost the ability to dial hands free. Before the RNS-E my bluetooth connection would allow me to push the button on my steering wheel and say "Select Name" "Home" "Dial" and my phone would call home. That function no longer exists.
Also, the RNS-E unit does not download the phonebook to the unit. I can still see the phone book between the tach and the speedo, but not the unit itself.
Can anyone help with this? I've poured through the NavPlus forums (and posted too) but haven't found an answer.
The last thing is that in the past my Symphony radio/cd/sirius would only shut off when I removed the key after turning off the car. Now the moment I turn off the car the entire system shuts down. I need to keep the auxilary power on to hear music. Do others that have the navigation have to do this?
The dealership says they've done all they can do (to their credit they have offered to remove the unit at no cost).

Sounds like you need to code the unit correctly
And it turning off right away is how they work....I have a device (CANgate) that keeps it on until the key is off.

You'll need to power it up and hook into CAN bus, if you don't have that already, you'll have to have a wiring harness made.
If you haven't solved your bluetooth problem in a few weeks I can help you. I live in Forest Park....but going on vacation this weekend until the 30th, then I'll be gone on business that week I return, I could help you that weekend.....around the 5th? Very busy up until then.
