Default Tire/Brake Wear at Driver Safety Schools?

Hey Guys,

So I'm getting really excited about the upcoming event in a few weeks (though I still can't get the darn site to accept my payment details!) and I have question:

What kind of tire and brake wear can I expect at one of these events? Will I be needing a new set of tires after the event (assume almost new summer tires)? How do the stock brakes wear?

Thanks for your responses!

Default Your 1st event?

If so, your tires will be just fine.

Depending on how fast you progress your stock brakes, if not new to begin with, may wear out quite a bit given that event is 3 days. But they may last. I'm assuming you have an S4/S6 Aavant, so it's a heavy car.

As for registering or accepting payment issues, send an email to event coordinator.

Default you should not need new tires or new brake pads after this event

i don't know what group you're running in but if both tires and pads are new, you'll be fine....if you're having an issue with payment contact bryan at 127th dot com

Default Yes to the first event. Stock brakes without too much wear (only 8k on the car)

So should I expect that after running this event I will have substantially worn brakes? I understand that there are many variables that can not be accounted for. I'm looking for general information.

Does that mean just new pads, or rotors too?

Thanks guys! Just trying to get an idea of the true cost of these events.

But usually you can make an event on a set of pads.

Stock pads will work on the first few schools, then its time for upgrades.......

Probably the cheapest "mod" is to duct air to the calipers / rotors.

I've worn OEM pads down to deli sliced thin, but I knew my driving had X amount of laps in them left, so monitor your pads and tires after every session.

Its not uncommon to see guys pop in a new set of track pads at an event, or put in replacement pads between sessions & classroom.

Picture shows ~2/3 worn down pad.

A tire rotation mid-event will help keep tire wear even, but you'll be fine.

Default Pfft! That is more than enough pad material. :)

.....With my stock A4, I ran 5 events on the same pad.
