Compressor runs constantly. Temperature sensitive?
I was in Tahoe this past weekend where there was some nice fresh snow, so I was driving in levels 2 and 3 most of the time. Usually I drive in 1, but occasionally in 2. In 1, in 40-60 degree weather, I can hear the compressor in the rear of the car cycle occasionally for a few seconds at a time. In Tahoe, on level 2/3, in teens to 35 degree weather, I could hear the compressor running nearly all the time. I put it back to level 1 and it seemed to quiet down.
I wouldn't think a 20 or 30 degree variation should have that kind of impact, but it's the only real variable I see in the whole equation.
The only thing I can think of, is that I did have new tires just put on within the past month, and I forgot to tell the tech to lock the suspension (and I doubt he knew to do it). Maybe this is the "confused" suspension issue I occasinally read about here?
