Default 100,000 miles and going

Last week clocked up 100,000 miles done a further 1500 since. This is the first time I have ever kept a car long enough to hit 100k.

Just in case I took extended warranty, which I have used once bill £490 which was about the cost of warranty so at least I have got my monies worth. Warranty runs out in April so I am hoping to hit the next service interval before then.

Hope to keep it going to 200,000 by which time the new Pikes Peak will be out.

Default Wonderfull

I'll be keeping mine well into 100,000+.

My first Audi's were a 1981 4000s..that I gave to charity (1995) with the original clutch at 145,000
My second was a 1980 5000S (wife's dad) that we junked with with 138,000 in 1996

Both cars were neglected and abused, but ran till I parted with them.

Default How I wish we had an affordable TDI here in North America!

I keep reading about the VW/Audi group's great TDI's -- and one of the key points is longevity.

Then I read that the torque (which we love so dearly in the US) comes on big and low so that the driver will have virtually no clue that he/she is driving an oil burner -- coupled with better milage and lower fuel costs. . .why can't we have them?!?

I wish we had them too. Cr@ppy diesel and low demand have kept them for the most part out of the US.

Default I gave my '01 ar to my wife at 133,000 miles back in October

I drive a thousand miles a week and at the rate I was going my 150,000 mile extended warranty was going to expire in just a few months. At the rate she drives, it'll last years!

I bought a Volvo R-car (S60R 300HP) and now we're both happy. The ar is a great car and served me well.

Congrats to you on the 100K!

Default Interstate Star Auto

It's not cheap - $3,800 - but I've already applied $8,000 in repairs towards it so it's paid for itself twice. And I'm reimbursed for rental cars/loaners. One caveat: Interstate can bust ***** over the cost of repairs because Audi labor and repair-time estimates are so high but after duking it out with them they have paid up. I'm glad I bought it. Other than suspension problems which started on day-one, I didn't have any other problems until the car hit 110,000 miles. Great car. Protect it.

Good luck Paul
