In the "what car after the allroad is gone" category

I have to say that the new (05) Outback looks pretty promising. I don't expect that the handling will be quite up to ar standards and it won't have air suspension but otherwise the specs look appealing.

Along with a revised 6cyl, there will finally be a turbo version of the 2.5 (250hp/250lb-ft) and the new model is lighter than the current one. MT fans take note - 5 speed manual is an option on the turbo along with 5spd auto.

Actually our 2001 H6 model isn't bad, my major gripe is the lethargic trans and low-end response. It really works very well above 80mph though....

Looking forward to giving one a tryout.
