Am I Just Unlucky Or...
Took my 2003 2.7tt AR into the dealership (Anchor Audi in Lynbrook, NY) to check on a possible oil leak - noticed some oil dripping under the engine bay a few days ago. They called me and declared that the car needs a new rear main cranckshaft oil seal and that they will have to order parts, etc. Looks like a major job (removing the tranny included). Anyone had similar experience? What are the chances of them srewing things up while doing the repair?

I don't mean to scare you but...
I have read about this in the past. I recall someone saying they have had to have the same thing done 2-3 times!
A few days ago I had noticed something similary. Was happy to find out it was likely due to oil over filling (not of my doing!).

FWIW, anchor has a pretty good reputation for service.
Not that I would know personally, cuz I bought my ar from legend. My buddy got his S4 there and loves the place. did they tell you what you would be driving as a loaner?
