Default Pics of tinted tails and spoiler!

Hey all,

I finally got around to installing my tinted tailights and rear spoiler. I think they came out pretty well. The lighting was not very good, so please excuse the quality of the pics.

Default Another Maryland allroader. Did you get the tint done locally?

I'm torn on my opinion. In some pics it looks clean and natural and others it smacks of rice IMO. But the important thing is that you like it so enjoy!

Default tint info---rice?

Hey RMcQ,

I got my windows tinted by www.toointensewindows.com
They are one of the few dealers of Llumar tint in the area and they are located in Waldorf, MD. They actually come to your location to do the work. I was very impressed, and the llumar tint is among the highest quality. They are also a dealer of Huper (german ceramic films) that are even better (better heat and uv rejection with less light rejection), pricey though.

P.S. I think its funny that you mention the rice look. I have always been all about subtlety and have made fun of rice rockets for years. I think that on a black car the tinted lights make for a clean and subtle but hopefully menacing look. The antenna, I think, is borderline, in of its own its aluminum look seems like a nice accent to the other polished bits to the car but the antennas roots in rice are hard to overlook.
It may be a bit too styilized for the Bauhaus beginnings of the car design and have made me rethink its appropriateness. We'll see.

Default Too Intense window tinting

they did a great job, cost about $250 with high quality llumar metallic tint. They come to you at your workplace or home to do the work. They are one of the few places that carry llumar. They also carry Huper films which are german made ceramic tints with higher uv and heat rejection with minimal light loss. Huper would have cost me $460 and would not have given me the more menacing look I was going for.

let me know if you need anymore info.

Default Sorry about the rice comment. It seems you can't use the word without sounding totally negative...

go figure!!

I just can't make up my mind personally from the pictures. I think that some of them make the taillight tint look somewhat artificial or unnatural. Like a mod for the sake of aesthetic difference rather than improvement. I like the way they look in this one though:

<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/61705/img_3084.jpg">

I would need to see the car in person before I would consider such a mod for my own car.

As for the antenna.....Gimme an "R"....Gimme an "I"........

Just kidding. Run what you like and ignore idiots like me making judgements about your decisions.
