allroad gripes somewhat subdued
ISSUE #1 : Broken suspension
Replaced a valve (which was the wrong diagnosis) and then replaced the compressor.
RESOLUTION #1
It works now, but I've never heard such a racket from below. There is a VERY noticable motor noise and audible clunk when the compressor starts and stops. I wonder, did they actually bolt it in place?
-- It is going back for a lesson in civility. Unacceptable.
ISSUE #2 : Squealing brakes
Get used to it...those are "high performance brakes"
RESOLUTION #2
Swallow the Audi line of BS.
ISSUE #3 : Rough engine idle
New ECM recall flash disabled a back door for the mechanic. He can no longer adjust the idle.
RESOLUTION #3
Live with the rumble feeling of a "cammed" V8 while the Audi service manager trolls for answers from the engineers within Audi.
-- I am not holding my breath.
Conclusion:
AoA did a great job of making the dealer respond and has been proactive in seeking a solution to satisfy the customer. That is great and appreciated - but it does not change the reality or the condition of the allroad I drive. Back to service to replace/repair the compressor and wait for the next bug.
