ECU Question? Do all 01 Allroads have the immobilizer? (more)

I spoke with Mike Hoppen at MTM and was told that all 01 Allroads have the immobilizer.

I want to Chip my ECU but was told that I would have to have an Audi dealership recode my extra ECU specifically for my car?

I thought I could just find an extra ECU that matched letter and number wise and plug and go?

I didn't think they started doing the updated security until about 18 months ago.

Anyone Chipped an 01 or newer Allroad with similar problems or success?

It's true. You need to either chip your ecu or have the extra ecu recoded. Unless you want to wait

for APR's DirectPort Programming. That may be a looooooooong wait though.

Yeah because there are so few allroads it doesn't pay to cater to us :- p

How did you go through the process of getting your ECU recoded?

Do you have an extra ECU or did you mod your stock ECU?

Sad but true. What percentage of this board is modded? 2 % maybe unlike some other board where it

probably jumps to 98%. Not happy with the situation but I can't say I blame them.

I don't know a single person that bought an extra ecu. Audiusa will know about it, so, what is the

point?

Exactly they record the Vin and ECU numbers so it won't match if they really look.

Most people just asssume that the dealer won't look very hard.
