ok Mik. I'm still "good", but whats the trick to removing this upper oil pan?
is it pulling the starter? I honestly don't know. I'm just looking for the easiest way, heh (aren't we all...) thx

yea. no worries, we got it free
Lifted up the engine as much as we could, then unbolted the frame structure and pried it down. By doing those two things, we (dad and I) got enough space to wiggle & angle the fly wheel end of the oil pan out, which freed the whole thing.
Now just gotta put the new one back in. Piece of cake...yea, right! thanks for your help. I'd still like to have a source on those cool diagrams =P . The Russian site isn't working out for me. ttyl
