Default Currently bumping the beats, but the motor is still sitting preity on the stand.....

I was sent the wrong Pilot bearing for the flywheel, Not sure if it was self error, or theirs. But it haulted my intentions of putting the motor in this weekend. I cannot find the pilot bearing online at all that I need. So tomorrow I will be off to the stealership.

However good news.

I can sound cool in my coupe in the garage with beats and no motor.

JL audio 300/4 amplifier
8 Boston accoustic component speakers
1 alpine head unit
Monster cables
Monster 16 gauge speaker wire
2 inch drilled hole in the unibody under the driver side rear seat to route the wiring, from trunk to passenger compartment.

Finished, well almost, I need to get a fuse, and some other stuff.. It makes noise and sounds so fricken nice thought!

I still have yet to install:
10 inch JL audio sub
250/1 JL audio amp

I have not quite decided on how to figure out amp placement and the sub. I will leave that for tomorrow. But I do have some MDF waiting for me. And a custom hot rod upolstry shop right around the corner ;-)

Cheers
Josh

Default I've got the bearing in SKF brand that's WAY higher spec tolerances than stock....

SKF part number: 6002 2RS JEM

Specs:
O.D. 30mm
I.D. 15mm
Thickness: 9mm
Double sealed.

Best dam pilot bearing for the CQ money can buy, period!

I have several, all brand new in factory box and sealed. $28.85 including USPS Priority Mail and it will ship tomorrow so you'd have it in your hands on Thursday.

Paypal preferred.

Pilot bearings are flywheel specific, not engine code specific

Default Great Googlely Mooglely SOLD!

I have to upload the money into my paypal account which will take a few days to clear.

If you were to send it tomorrow, I promiss you I am good for the money.

I currently have only 7 dollars in my paypal account now. I could send you that as a down payment and send you the rest when it clears. I'd even call it an even $30.

But you can email me privately:

Livinotte@***.net

Thanks
Josh

Not in all Audi/VW's, some take the pilot in the crank

Default What I'm getting at is pilot bearings don't have to be used in the motors they come with

same if the pilot bearing is crank-mounted tho those are usually pilot bushings. If you transfer a crank (or flywheel) to another car the bearing/bushing stays with the crank/flywheel used and not the engine code it was necessarily installed in by the manufacturer.

And that is true in ALL Audi/VW or any other make of car. Bearings/bushings will always be crank/flywheel specific. I used "flywheel" in this case because that was the bearing we were talking about. I was not addressing other makes or models tho the concept remains identical.
