headlight\foglight protection film

20v points that some vendors carry head\foglight protective film.I called vendors and they confirm it saying that it's made by 3M.i called 3m and they don't make anything like that,because that is unsafe because the only film they make is for paint protection and will affect light brightness,thus unsafe.So is it vendorsusinng 3m products for what it wasn't intended for,or 3M rep doesn't know of all the products of the company?Anyone using this film?Is it good?

Re: roomate uses it on his fogs, perfectly clear coating and they havent cracked yet.

The stuff is made by 3M and is available from a number of venders, although it is somewhat pricey. I got a sheet about 18" square from Bavarian Autosport for about $40. Maybe you can get it cheaper, but the stuff does work, I used it on my old 325 es front fogs.

Did anyone put them on headlights though?

I'm going to upgrade to eurolights and want to protect them

they crack euro lights, euros run much hotter than DOT

If the headlamp housings are intact you can buy lenses from Blau...
