1990 Audi 90 non-quattro runs hot. Help!
Girl friend hit a curb and wrecked the front airdam...could be a problem. What do you think?
Here is the deal. This is a friends car. I can buy it from him for $700 as he is not mechanically inclined and wants it gone. It only has 87k miles and needs what ever work to make this overheating problem go away. Otherwise, the car is fine. Should I take the plunge and get this thing. I want a manual tranny, but figure this will due til I find the car I want.
Thanks,
John

Switch is on the bottom rear of the radiator. Check the fuse and wiring too.
Otherwise, clogged radiator. Flush & fill with correct Blue or Red (phosphate-free) coolant 50-50% mix. (If it is green, it is probably incorrect).
To test out the fan, you can jump the thermo switch electrical connector and see if the fan runs.
And when you find the car you want, if the Audi 90 is still in good condition, sell it to me for $800! Uhhh... What color is it and what is the interior like?
Good Luck!
I bet you only have a $30 - 50 problem if it only gets hot standing in traffic.
